This is a proven rig on Carpenwater and many other waters too, simple and very effective.
Tip
1.
Try adding a few small peices of heavy putty along
the braid to pin it to the lake bed.
Tip
2.
Experiment with different hook sizes and hookbaits.
Try a few small baits on one hair or two broken halfs of boilies.
Carp rig ...
Over 2005 many
visitors asked the question " what is the best rig to use for the carp?"
Well my answer is always the same, one that you have confidence in!
The rig I use which seems to work very well is detailed below, give it a go
and see how you get on.

Items required: Hooklength material of your choice, barbless hooks, braid scissors, 0.7mm rubber tube, baiting needle and some rig glue. |
Cut a length of braid between 10 and 16 inches. | Make a loop in one end of the hooklength, use the baiting needle to help tighten the knott. |

| Place a 5mm section of rubber tubing over the hook length and slide it up towards the loop. | Take the hook and slide the tubing over the point and round the bend. Then thread the hooklength through the eye of the hook. | Now wrap the braid round the shank of the hook 8 times going towards the bend, then thread the braid back through the eye of the hook to form a knottless knott. |

| Tie a loop in the loose end of the hooklength to attach to a quicklink. Trim off the excess braid. | Apply a small amount of rig glue to the knotts to stop them slipping. | The rig is now ready to use, attach your chosen bait and go catch some fish! |
